Rules and Regulations
These rules and regulations govern participation in the online science quiz event organized by Experient Science Labs India Private Limited ("the Organizer"). By registering for and participating in this event, all students ("Participants") and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) agree to be bound by these rules.
1. Event Overview:
Event Name: Stemul8 Science Olympiad – 2025.
Organizer: Experient Science Labs India Private Limited
Platform: The quiz will be conducted online using the 3rd party quizzing website and web conferencing application Zoom (the "Platform").
Categories: Students can register in one of the following two categories.
- Middle School: Students going to 6th or 7th grade in the coming academic session 2025-26.
- High School: Students going to 8th to 10th grade in the coming session 2025-26.
- The students from one category are not allowed to take part in the other category. Students should take part only in the category relevant to them.
Prizes: Three winners in each category will receive one (1) Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit. Five Runners-up will receive 50% discount coupon for Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit. In all, there are six kits and ten discount coupons awarded to the winners.
2. Registration:
Eligibility: The competition is open to students currently enrolled in schools across India and falling within the specified grade ranges for the Middle School and High School categories.
Registration Process: Participants must register individually through the official website of the Organizer (stemul8.com/event/stemul8-science-olympiad-1/register).
Consent: Registration of a minor (under 18 years of age) requires the explicit consent of their parent(s) or legal guardian(s). By registering, the parent/guardian confirms their consent and agreement to these rules and regulations.
Registration Deadline: Registration will close on 16 th June, at 5:00 PM (IST). No registrations will be accepted after this deadline.
Registration Confirmation: Upon successful registration, participants will further details on how to participate in the event.
3. Video Submission
By uploading a video showcasing a science experiment, model, or prototype (the "Video") to the platform, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
a. Video Content and Guidelines:
- The Video must be original content created by the participating student. Video should show the face of the participating student performing/conducting/explaining the video.
- The Video should clearly demonstrate a science experiment, model, or prototype relevant to the student's category (Middle School or High School).
- The content of the Video must be appropriate for a general audience and must not contain any offensive, discriminatory, harmful, or inappropriate material.
- The Video should be .mp4 format, should not be longer than 2 minutes, file size should be less than 100 MB.
b. Submission and Consent:
By uploading the Video to the Organizer's platform, the Submitter grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, display, and otherwise exploit the Video, in whole or in part, in any media now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose related to the Event and the promotion of science education by the Organizer.
- This license includes, but is not limited to, the right to:
- Feature the Video on the Organizer's website, social media platforms, and other online channels.
- Use the Video in promotional materials, presentations, and reports related to the Event and future initiatives.
- Share the Video with media outlets and educational partners.
- Archive and retain the Video for historical and archival purposes.
The Submitter warrants that they have all necessary rights and permissions to grant the aforementioned license and that the Video does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.
The Submitter understands and agrees that the Organizer is under no obligation to use the Video in any particular manner or at all.
c. Ownership and Intellectual Property:
The Submitter retains ownership of the copyright in their original Video content. However, by submitting the Video, the Submitter grants the Organizer the rights to use the Video as outlined in these terms and conditions.
d. Privacy:
By submitting a Video that may contain the image or likeness of the participating student, the Submitter grants the Organizer the right to use such image or likeness for the purposes outlined in these terms and conditions.
The Organizer will handle any personal information contained within the Video in accordance with its privacy policy, which can be found on our website
e. Representations and Warranties:
The Submitter represents and warrants that:
- They have the legal right and authority to submit the Video and grant the licenses herein.
- All individuals appearing in the Video (if any) have consented to their appearance and the use of their image and likeness as contemplated herein.
- The Video does not contain any false, misleading, defamatory, or unlawful content.
f. Indemnification:
The Submitter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to any breach of these terms and conditions or the use of the Video by the Organizer as permitted herein.
4. Technical Requirements:
Participants are responsible for ensuring they have access to the necessary technical equipment:
- A computer or laptop with a functional webcam and microphone. Mobile phones are generally discouraged due to screen size limitations.
- A stable and reliable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth for uninterrupted video streaming and quiz participation.
- A compatible web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari)
The Organizer will not be responsible for any technical issues faced by participants during the quiz due to inadequate equipment or internet connectivity.
5. Conduct and Fair Play:
Honour Code Agreement: Upon logging in, participants may be required to digitally sign or acknowledge an honour code stating they will adhere to the principles of academic integrity and fair play during the quiz.
Strict Prohibition of Unfair Means: Any form of cheating or use of unfair means is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Accessing or referring to any external resources (physical or digital, including books, notes, websites, search engines, other applications).
- Communicating with or seeking assistance from any other person, whether in person or remotely, during the quiz.
- Using additional devices (mobile phones, tablets, smartwatches, etc.) to access information or communicate.
- Having another individual take the quiz on their behalf.
- Attempting to record, photograph, or share the quiz questions or answers in any form.
Adherence to Proctor Instructions: Participants must follow all instructions and guidelines provided by the designated proctors. Failure to comply with proctor instructions may result in disqualification.
Suspicious Activity: Any suspicious activity observed by the proctors, including but not limited to frequent looking away from the screen, unusual eye movements, whispering, or the presence of unauthorized materials, will be noted and may lead to further investigation and potential disqualification.
6. Quiz Day Procedures:
Login Time: Participants must log in to the designated online platform at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the quiz. This buffer time is crucial for addressing any potential technical difficulties.
Platform Access: Detailed instructions on how to access the quiz on the 3rd party quizzing platform will be provided to registered participants via email prior to the event.
Mandatory Webcam and Microphone: Participants must ensure their webcam is functioning correctly and remains turned on throughout the entire duration of the quiz. The camera view should clearly show the participant's face, shoulders, and their immediate surroundings (desk area). The microphone should be functional and may be used by proctors for instructions or verification.
Identification Verification: At the beginning of the quiz session, proctors may ask participants to present their school-issued ID card or another valid photo ID to the webcam for verification. Participants must comply with this request.
Environment Check: Participants may be asked by the proctor to perform a brief 360-degree scan of their room using their webcam to ensure no unauthorized materials or individuals are present.
Muting: Participants will generally be muted during the quiz. Any communication with proctors should be via a designated chat function or as instructed by the proctor.
No Virtual Backgrounds or Filters: Participants must disable any virtual backgrounds or filters on their video conferencing software to ensure a clear view of their surroundings.
7. Proctoring and Monitoring:
The event will be actively proctored by designated individuals ("Proctors") who will monitor participants via the video conferencing platform or quizzing platform.
Proctors have the authority to request participants to re-adjust their camera view or perform environment checks and flag participants exhibiting suspicious behavior for further review and suspend, if required.
The Organizer reserves the right to employ automated monitoring tools in addition to live proctoring to detect suspicious activity.
8. Quiz Format and Scoring:
Question Type: The questions will be primarily Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Questions will be in the form of a text or an image or a video.
Time Limit: There will be a specific time limit for each individual question. The timer will be visible on the Platform.
Scoring Mechanism:
Correct Answer and speed response: For each correct answer responded before a fixed time, full points will be awarded. All the questions will carry some points. Quicker you answer the questions correctly, more points you will score. As you take more time to answer the question correctly, the points awarded will decrease. No points will be awarded for answering the question after the allotted time for the question is over. There is no negative marking. Any unattempted question will fetch 0 points.
Tie-breaking Criteria: In case of a tie in scores, the following criteria will be used in order to determine the winners:
- Tie-breaker 1: Fewest incorrect answers.
- Tie-breaker 2: Fastest time to complete all the attempted questions.
- If a tie still persists after applying all tie-breaker criteria, the Organizer's decision will be final.
9. Disqualification:
Any participant found to be violating any of these rules and regulations will be immediately disqualified from the competition.
The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify a participant at any stage of the event if evidence of unfair means or misconduct is found.
The decision of the Organizer regarding disqualification is final and binding.
10. Technical Issues:
The Organizer will not be held responsible for any technical issues related to 3rd party platform or issues beyond the Organizer's control.
In case of widespread technical issues affecting a significant number of participants, the Organizer reserves the right to reschedule the quiz or take other appropriate measures, the decision of which will be final.
11. Communication:
All official communication regarding the quiz will be sent to the registered email addresses of the participants (or their parents/guardians). Participants are responsible for checking their email regularly for updates and announcements.

12. Product Usage Disclaimer - Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box Kit:
The winner and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) acknowledge and agree to the following:
Assumption of Responsibility: The safe and appropriate usage of the Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit is the sole responsibility of the winning student and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
Parental Supervision: It is strongly recommended that a parent or legal guardian supervise the student during the use of the kit, especially when conducting experiments involving chemicals, tools, or any potentially hazardous materials included in the kit.
Following Instructions: The user must carefully read and strictly adhere to all instructions, safety guidelines, and warnings provided with the Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit and those provided by the mentors during the live sessions and videos.
No Liability: Experient Science Labs India Private Limited, its organizers, employees, and affiliates shall not be held responsible or liable for any injury, damage, loss, or any other consequence arising directly or indirectly from the use, misuse, or handling of the Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit. This includes, but is not limited to, any incidents occurring during experiments or while handling the components of the kit.
Acceptance of Terms: By accepting the prize, the winner and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) fully understand and agree to this disclaimer and release Experient Science Labs India Private Limited from any and all liability related to the use of the Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit.
13. Results and Winners:
The results of the quiz will be compiled and evaluated by the Organizer.
The list of winners in each category will be announced 3 days after the day of quiz on the official website www.stemul8.com/SSQ2025 and via email to the registered email addresses of the winners (or their parents/guardians).
The decision of the Organizer in determining the winners is final and binding. No appeals or challenges regarding the results will be entertained.
14. Feedback Requirement
The winners of the Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit prize are required to comply with the following terms and conditions regarding product feedback:
a. Mandatory Feedback:
Acceptance of the Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit prize constitutes an agreement by the winner (and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) if the winner is a minor) to provide comprehensive feedback on various aspects of the product – Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box.
b. Feedback Scope:
The feedback should cover, but may not be limited to, the following aspects of the Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit: Ease of Assembly, Ease of Use, Usability, Learning Value, Design, Packaging, Safety, Completeness, Suggestions for Improvement , Usefulness of Live Sessions and Videos, and Overall Experience.
c. Feedback Format:
Winners will be required to provide their feedback in a format specified by the Organizer. This may include:
- Completing an online feedback form.
- Participating in a virtual interview or discussion.
- Submitting a written review (e.g., via email).
- Potentially creating a short video review (if requested).
The specific format and the deadline for submitting the feedback will be communicated to the winners along with the prize distribution details. Failure to provide the feedback within the stipulated timeframe may result in forfeiture of any future benefits or recognition related to the event.
d. Use of Feedback:
By providing feedback, the winner (and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s)) grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, 1 and otherwise exploit the feedback, in whole or in part, in any media now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose related to the Stemul8 product, including but not limited to product development, marketing, testimonials, and internal analysis.
The Organizer reserves the right to use the feedback with or without attribution to the winner's name.
e. Authenticity and Honesty:
Winners are expected to provide genuine and honest feedback based on their experience with the Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit.
f. No Compensation:
Providing feedback is a mandatory requirement for receiving the prize. Winners will not be entitled to any additional compensation for providing their feedback beyond receiving the Stemul8 Lab-in-a-box kit as the prize for the quiz competition.
15. Amendments and Modifications:
The Organizer reserves the right to amend, modify, or update these rules and regulations at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on the official website. Participants are advised to review the rules periodically for any updates.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction:
These rules and regulations shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this event shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore.
By proceeding with registration, participants and their parents/guardians signify their understanding and acceptance of these comprehensive Rules and Regulations.
